The countdown has begun to November 11, when Fleet’s 2 Proxima satellites will launch from Rocket Lab’s Mahia launch site in New Zealand. Centauri I & II will then launch in late November with SpaceX and Antrix.

Proxima to launch ahead of Centauri!
All in a couple of months’ work for the Rocket Lab and Fleet teams. We started the Proxima Program the minute both Centauri satellites were completed and shipped to their launchers (SpaceX and Antrix).
Applying learnings from Centauri and working with Rocket Lab has meant we’ve been able to put together Proxima in a fraction of the time of Centauri. The two Proxima satellites will launch together on 11 November 2018 – ahead of the Centauri satellites!
Centauri I & II are also scheduled to launch in late November. The team has now turned all their attention to making sure Mission Control at Fleet HQ in Adelaide is ready to handle four satellites making their first orbits within days of each other. There won’t be much sleep through November and December as we work 24×7 to commission Proxima and Centauri!
